Lake Erie Biofuels Plant is Pennsylvania's first large-scale biodiesel production facility and one of the five largest in the nation with annual production capacity of about 45 million gallons. It was built on land formerly owned by International Paper Co. at a cost of more than $50 million. As a supplier of alternative fuel additive methyl ester, the Lake Erie Biofuels Plant is a state-of-the-art biodiesel plant that meets new voluntary quality-assurance standards. Biodiesel is a fuel made from animal fats or vegetable oil.

Dover Air Force Base is the active duty military host for the 436th Airlift Wing, consisting of over 4,000 active-duty military and civilian employees. To support the airlift mission of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft at Dover AFB, the US Air Force invested hundreds of millions of dollars in new hangars, infrastructure, and aviation facilities. The base construction program included a new $77 million, 370,000 square foot C-17 Air Freight Terminal (AFT) that includes an oversized cargo facility and main building with maintenance and operational sections.
