Fort Belvoir Community Hospital

The Fort Belvoir Community Hospital is a new facility designed to treat wounded soldiers and their families, and will shift nearly 19,000 workers to Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, VA. It is budgeted at $650 million and is being built in conjunction with the Army's program for BRAC with an overall completion date of 2010. The 1.2 million square foot hospital will be staffed and operated by the Army Medical Command. The hospital will consist of 120 in-patient beds, a 10-bed intensive care unit, a 10-bed behavioral health inpatient unit, 10 operating rooms, a cancer center, an emergency department, parking structures, helipad, and a central energy plant.

The USACE hired MOCA Systems to provide professional services utilizing MOCA’s proven approach to support the USACE throughout the design and construction of the complex program. MOCA is augmenting the USACE team with integration management expertise between the architect and contractor in an Integrated Design Bid Build (IDBB) contract. In addition, MOCA is providing a range of project control services including cost engineering and management, EVMS, scheduling, payment control, and change order analysis.
