Walt Winshall
Walt Winshall has served as a Board Director since December 2001. Walt is a principal in Collaborative Seed and Growth Partners, LLC, an investment firm specializing in the commercialization of early-stage technology. Previously, he was a co-founder and Chairman of SilverPlatter International, NV, a company providing information services for libraries, which was acquired by the Dutch publishing company Wolters Kluwer in 2001. He graduated from MIT in electrical engineering and from the Harvard Law School.
John Strauss
John Strauss has served as a Board Director since November 2007. John brings significant experience in capital acquisition, operations, sales and marketing, product development, and strategic planning. He is Founding Fellow in the Clean Energy Fellowship Program and CEO of ThermoGen Hague, a pioneering technology company focused on bio-mass and coal gasification to synthetic natural gas. He has been President and CEO of multiple companies in the U.S. and Europe including Biopreserve LLC, SB3 LLC and SB3 Holdings, Ekstam Worldwide, and Ocean Design, Inc. In addition, he was a co-founder of Groundwater Technology Inc.
Beverly Bruce
Beverly Bruce has served as a Board Director since July 2008. Beverly is an experienced executive who has logged a successful record of achievement within the technology industry for more than 30 years. Ms. Bruce's core competency has been to move companies to new innovative business models and lead the execution of these strategies, including the establishment of IBM’s software channel strategy in the early 1990s and the establishment of the industry's first family of managed web hosting services at Exodus. She has led acquisitions of multiple companies and has served on numerous advisory boards. She graduated from LadyCliff College in Chemistry/Biology and from Columbia Graduate School of Business in the executive program.
Chuck Thomsen
Chuck Thomsen has served as a Board Director since March 2009. Chuck Thomsen is a recognized leader in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry, with experience managing two successful companies. He led 3D/I from 1982 until its merger with Parsons in 2006. Prior to 3D/I, Chuck was president and CEO of CRS where he founded one of the industry’s first construction management companies. Chuck is a Director of FMI Inc., a Chairman of the Rice Building Institute, a Fellow with both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and author of three books. He was elected to the National Academy of Construction in 2008. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a master’s degree in architecture.
Hugh L. Rice
Hugh Rice has served as a Board Director since December 2011. He has 39 years of experience providing strategic advice to the engineering and construction industry, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, transition planning, stock valuations, and capital services. With numerous published articles and speeches to major organizations, he is considered an industry thought leader. He has been with FMI Corporation throughout his career, joining the firm in 1972 and opening the Denver office in 1979. He launched the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group, now FMI Capital Advisors, Inc., where he served as chief executive officer until 2003 and chairman until 2011. Hugh has a master’s in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Kevin Bernier
Kevin joined us in 2005. After restructuring our innovative technology and services to better meet client needs, he has led us in sustained growth and expansion. He has 22 years of commercial and operational leadership experience at General Electric, Polaroid, Bain & Company, and the U.S. Navy. He managed software and services business units for public and private organizations. Kevin has a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell and bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Duke University.
